Why are private security vehicles impersonating police vehicles in Wrexham? I’m sure it is an offence to impersonate a police officer. They have roof lights, police style checking and even a police style star on the door.

    Where abouts was that taken?

The logo on the door does look very much like the North Wales Police one :

Any chance it was a support vehicle for the police?

They are G4S security. Nothing to do with the Police. There are 2 vehicles in Wrexham. They have the council logo in the star. How they get away with mimicking Police is beyond me.

That’s quite in unnerving. Children are told to look for this type of vehicle for safety. Also, do you have to give way to this vehicle on the road when it’s lights are flashing ? Answers required me thinks.

Same with RoSPA vehicles or wombles as they are known. I wouldn’t stop unless a vehicle displayed police on front. Same reason why welsh police had to add English to their bonnets not by law required to stop.

It’s not just in Wrexham. They’re appearing all over the UK.

However, they’re not allowed to use Blue Lights.

The only vehicles that are permitted to use them in the UK are

    Police
    H.M. Coastguard
    Fire
    Ambulance
    Human Tissue for Transplant
    Blood Transfusion Service
    Mines rescue
    Mountain rescue
    Lifeboat launching vehicles

These “Security Response Vehicles” have no enhanced right of way when their white, yellow or red lights are flashing.

As these vehicles are displaying the Wrexham Council logo , one assumes they are approved of / funded by them.
