A cascade of poppies flowing out from the tower of St Giles Parish Church would be a wonderful sight and draw people from all over North Wales a far more imaginative site than Llwyn Isaf and more in keeping with other locations that have already been accepted. I hope we are successful this time.

Sorry don’t think this will happen as the Council only want the display if it is on their property — the last submission was for the museum.
Fully agree that St Giles would be more fitting as the church has the RWF chapel and many other memorials- lets hope the Council have a change of heart and see if a partnership with St Giles can be established.

Just a note on this – I have had it pointed out today that the prior bid was not for the museum but was for Llwyn Isaf.

I am told that the new bid is for *both* the window display and the wave display, with the aim to get one or the other – but is a dual bid, and is described as ‘working in partnerships’ for both locations so St Giles and the library field.

Looking back it does appear St Giles are onboard with this already as you would expect: https://www.wrexham.com/news/wrexham-to-make-second-bid-for-iconic-poppy-display-107994.html
