The lack of take up of the old BHS by the supposed major Retailer coming soon signs shows that this is a non entity and they are actually struggling to rent out any of the commercial space- there is not one single coming soon sign witha retailers name.
The developer has caught a cold by not getting commercial interest so needs to change their profit model- wait for the next planning application to convert the retial space into residential that is bound to follow soon.I wouldn’t have a problem with the whole Henblas Street Development including the TJ Hughes building being demolished, replaced with an open space part of which used as a free/inexpensive car park. Building this development was where the town went wrong in the first place. Haven’t a clue who owns it however.

What’s the point in free parking if there are no shops to come to?
I say turn the old TJ Hughes into a massive indoor paintball / laserquest area to keep the kids happy. There’s not much else for them to do! Fill it with a load of old furniture from all the businesses that are closing down so they can hide under desks and in cupboards and all that.
That was supposed to be tongue in cheek but I quite fancy the sound of that now. I might submit an application.TJ Hughes effectively shut Chester Street & Holt Street off from the town proper. I would rather do the paintball in BHS building & get rid of TJs if I had to choose which of course I don’t. Wrexham is bereft of space. Wouldn’t be a problem if the buildings looked half decent instead of plain old boring.
