What on earth is happening in Gwersyllt with the equivalent of 1260 per 100,000 being on eof the highest in Wales.

Essex have just called a Major Incident due to the highest levels of infection in England – Gwersyllt is just as high so why have the Council and Public Health Wales not done something similar in the area. Cllr Hugh Jones cannot defend the situation by saying there is testing in the Memorial hall in Wrexham — this is clearly no accessible for many people from Gwersyllt – a local testing point was set up in Caia Park when the rates were only around 350. The actual spread must be massively more as lots of people will not have been tested – come on Council and PHW get the support on the ground NOW before it really is to late and the infection spread results in large rise in deaths.

“Brentwood continues to have the highest rates of Covid in England with 969 new cases recorded in the seven days to 25 December – the equivalent of 1,258.1 cases per 100,000 people – and from 1,134.8 in the seven days to 18 December.

Epping Forest, also in Essex, has the second highest rate, up from 1,179.3 to 1,256.0, with 1,654 new cases.

Thurrock, again in Essex, is in third place, where the rate has fallen slightly from 1,295.2 to 1,181.6, with 2,060 new cases.”

Not even vaguely surprised at the figures for this whole area.
Many(not just a few) have shown a flagrant disregard for the rules and regulations surrounding this whole pandemic since it began, thus we’ll now reap the whirlwind.
Well done Wrexham, too at being bottom, AGAIN!

People have Covid fatigue now. Everyone knows someone who has broke the rules so they do it themselves. It’s wrong but and I understandable

If Covid fatigue has set in then perhaps a reversal will occur when everyone gets to know someone who has had Covid and they realise that ANYONE could catch it no matter where you live. Dreading seeing figures after New Year with the attitude of some people there will be all sorts of mixing taking place with no regard for distancing.
