The car park charges at Eagles Meadow is going up to £5 for two hours
    from November.
    Another nail in it’s coffin?

    A big rise from £3.10 to £5.
Shops have been struggling since the last increase, so I guess they’re are
in for a rough ride from November.

They are obviously planning on hovering out the pockets of Christmas shoppers, more than ever now its time to Christmas shop on line, Shrewsbury, Chester, Liverpool and at least have a nice day out as well as picking up Christmas gifts.

That was my very thought too Steve, just in time to cash in on Christmas shoppers. But I can see people staying away rather than pay up to stay there for two hours.

It’s always pretty empty with their current prices….with the new ones, they can expect to start seeing tumbleweed blowing around. Total numpties!

Cheaper to go to Cheshire Oaks or Broughton Park. The cost of fuel wouldn’t come to that much.

It is obvious from the electronic display at the entrance to the Vinci Car Park that their occupancy is a very long way from capacity. If they wish to be full then they should look at current income and work put what they would gain by REDUCING their charges and being near capacity. We are in the unfortunate position that Vinci is managed remotely by people who neither know the town nor care if it thrives!

Best use for the car park would be indoor five a side and a skate park as they will never get the space full with cars at this price level!

We had heard reports of this yesterday and tried to chase it up with Kevin Critchely, but he’s away until next week. Likewise a media rep from Vinci also wasn’t available yesterday, so we haven’t had anything firmed up yet. We did speak to a few members of EM staff tho who said they hadn’t heard anything about parking changes yet.

On a side note – A representative from Tesco Wrexham said at the Town Centre Forum that they have switched their number plate cameras back on / issuing warning letters to try and prevent people from using their parking.

Can’t blame them, why should their customers suffer when others are screwing theirs!
