The rose tinted brigade are spouting the usual rubbish in defence of the travellers, nobody wants them on their doorstep as they don’t behave like decent people, just wake up and smell the coffe. Its well documented what they get up to ,so there is no need to start listing their misdeeds.
Well done councillor Atkinson for taking prompt action.

If Clr Atkinson had any common sense he would respect all the laws that Hugh Bet mentioned.

Gypsies and Travellers are protected from discrimination by the Race Relations Act 1976 and the Human Rights Act 1998, together with all ethnic groups who have a particular culture, language or values.

As a Clr in a senior position on the Executive board he should know better that he is not authorised to take such actions as he did the other night – that is why we have a police force and other relevant trained professionals to deal with situations like temporary traveller sites.

Then to broadcast it online basically throws a massive invite for any members of the public to start pursuing minorities out of any location you feel like and take matters into their own hands. He wasn’t far off getting elected as MP of Wrexham. Oh wait this is the exact sort of screwy grey area behaviour Tories like to dabble in.

Don’t know the man but it really does sound like you have a bit of a vendetta against AA Matt. I wonder what Gresford residents think? It sounds a bit as a damned if he does & damned if he doesn’t scenario. I wish that my councillor took as much interest in his constituents welfare.

Impeccably honest, well-mannered and hard-working folk these “Travellers”. Selfless, too – always making visits to the homes of the elderly and helping them with their plumbing.

I can’t possibly fathom why anyone would object to having them in their neighbourhood. They must all be evil evil nasty waycist bigots! No other reason for it.

Have WCBC not complied with the law by giving them a site on Ruthin Road? How many sites does each council have to provide?

It would be interesting to see how many Councils in Wales out of the 22 are fully compliant and where does Wrexham sit in the #.’league table’ of welcoming counties.
What penalties/sanctions have been taken against any county that is non-compliant!

Now we have the headline “Police attend as travellers ‘take over field’ in Llay during ‘eventful few hours’”

WHERE IN HEAVEN’S NAME IS ANDREW WHEN HE IS NEEDED?

Llay Councillor Rob Walsh tonight said: “Unfortunately, travellers have taken over a field in Llay on the Gresford Road/Gegin Lane junction. It has been an eventful last few hours.
I will speak to the Council Liaison Officer first thing in the morning to see what can be done to get them as quickly as possible.
“Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.”

Why didn’t Rob chase them out of town? He really is no Andrew Atkinson.

Even better in this situation – The police attended the scene, but of course this wasn’t enough for the classy folk of Facebook Towers where someone decided to refer to the police as scum and then someone lambasted them for a completely unrelated matter where they failed to help get their dogs from their ex in a domestic situation.

Sounds like we really do need a sheriff for the gung ho mob. Wild West Wrexham.
