Reading the Wrexham.com report the largest level of fraud potentially would appear to be Council Members who are paid to engage in the work of Scrutinising and have a role to oversee the work of the Council failing in this duty whilst still claiming all their allowances. The Chair (who is a non Council Member) is perfectly correct in raising this issue and in 2017 there should be name and shame — this also links back to a story some months ago about the number of Council Members that draw down the allowances but cant even be bothered to fill out an annual activity report for the electorate to see what they have been doing or highlight massive gaps.

The issue over senior Council Officers non engagement should also be scrutinised
