I agree with the point re the subsidy for the Arts Centre – the main difference however with the childcare is that in this instance the subsidy funding was only available for a Council run setting and not to all the other providers in the area – thereby creating an unfair competition.. With regard to the Arts Hub that potentially will be the only provider of this provision.
You are right to highlight the level of per head subsidy for the Arts Hub which I am sure will result in more funding per year than Sprouts had over two years. I wonder how long the Council will carry on the Arts Hub subsidy before the decision to close like Sprouts. Or will they try to off load the Arts Hub to a group of gullible volunteers to set up the Community Trust as originally proposed.
