Last Saturday my shop hosted the British Record Store Day and we exceeded our best ever figures for Customers and Sales on one day since I opened many years ago. We posted the event pictures on Facebook and in-house entertainment was provided by the very talented Luke Gallagher.
This weekend Comic Con are coming back to Glyndwr University and this promises to be one of the best events that has been staged in Wrexham for years. If you check out the relevant websites, you will note that thousands were in attendance last year from all over Britain (and beyond) and collectors descended on Wrexham in their droves. On that subject, I note that Soda, the local Comic shop has been a huge success in the town and has now moved to bigger and better premises near Iceland. Well done and great to see young entrepreneurs doing so well.
Congratulations also belong to Neal Thompson and his Focus team who have organised a series of cutting edge events across the Borough this next week. Focus operates out of the Foundry and is a refreshing attempt to invigorate the cultural scene in a town that needs it. Again, great news for the town.
