Looks like Ian Lucas has stirred up Channel 4 to respond to his assertion that there was a South Wales bias in a proposal for a new HQ. They have come back to him via Twitter to meet up with the Wrexham Team as Wrexham nor any other place is either in or out of consideration.

Hope Ian’s initial accusation will not damage the view of Channel 4 towards Wrexham if a proper discussion takes place. Not sure who Wrexham would put forward as ‘Team Wrexham’.

As a location comparing Wrexham with Chester and Cardiff what has Wrexham goit that could make it a more attractive and commercial proposition.

Attract one company like that and others would follow , good to see some aspiration for the area. Even if it went on the Chester Business Park , there would be job opportunities for local people.

A Cardiff centric view from the top inside BBC Wales is not a shock really – tweet was this from the Cardiff bloke who is Director of BBC Wales

Speaking of HQ’s – Beeb down there are getting this £120,000,000 new HQ which if anyone has had the thrill of the hours on a train to emerge in Cardiff station – is right opposite. More on:

Will Channel 4 be more imaginative? :)

Not quite everything Chris, no decent roads or train links go from Wrexham to South Wales!!

Having had to do a run down to Crickhowell recently, I was genuinely amazed that the road (A483 between Chirk and Builth Wells) was one of the main links between North and South Wales. The alternative A49 being arguably worse.

BBC Wales and S4C have a long established presence in the Cardiff area and consequently, there’s a large existing pool of broadcast and production facilities, companies and talent, long ensconced there.

Salford is also in with a very good chance for all of the reasons that make Cardiff so attractive.

Ch4 aren’t coming to North Wales, the business case doesn’t in any way stack up.

Ch4 confirm they aren’t coming to North Wales. Manchester appears to be the front runner – as predicted.

There will be a strong anti-South Wales political movement growing up here in the North, if they don’t start sharing the wealth more.
