I really pity all those businesses who invest but find that the neighbouring shops font and turn out to be c**p. It is this lack of overall investment and shared responsibility for business growth, not just what one retailer does. Collective investment brings collective profits. No retailer can manage without the interdependency of those around them.

Several pieces of good news on the Car Parking front recently. The results from the Eagles Meadow price drop appear to have been positive whilst the reopening of St Marks Car Park can only assist making the town much more accessible and driving footflow upwards. There are 5 relatively recent incoming businesses on the straight line between Timpsons in Bank Street and the corner of Henblas Street/Chester Street and the free Parking Days and street events (as in the case tomorrow) are having really positive results here. There remain huge problems but the Rome and Day linkage springs to mind
