So all those businesses in Wales with a rateable value between £12,000 and £15,000 would be paying no Business Rates in England ! Not only that but the multiplayer is less as well. In the Budget the relief in England is being raised to £51,000 rateable value . Time for a level playing field in Wales on Business Rates.

Surely, over time, small business owners in Welsh border towns like Wrexham are going to think “I’ll try my luck over the border” in places like Oswestry or Chester.

No mention in the extra funding promised by Welsh Assembly of any specific support for the Business Rates reduction to make a level playing field with England.
