So a crowdfunding campaign to help raise over £13,000 to help send a local ballet dancer to the Northern Ballet School has been launched and naturally Gresford councillor, Andrew “photo opportunity” Atkinson has joined the campaign and is appealing to local people to donate via the crowd funder link.
Isn’t there some other local cause he can throw his weight behind rather than asking for us to help send a girl to ballet school? Will this help the community or could it be seen as being a little selfish?
The town centre welfare centre Hafan y Drefhas has seen the North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner withdraw his funding – which makes up 23% of the overall running cost, so couldn’t Andrew crowd fund to raise the £9,000 shortfall?
Just checking the fund raising site and £1,385 has been raised so far but i didn’t see Andrew’s name in the list of donations? Perhaps he is waiting to see how much it makes and top it up to £13,000.

Have you contributed in any way to either fund?
Get rid of the commissioner and staff (we never needed them anyhow) and spend the money on something useful.
