The payment was always a political ploy from Drakeford and co. They knew from the start it would be taxable and any backlash would ideally show Westminster in a bad light. They had to amend it because of an outcry from domestic and catering staff, couldn’t even get that right.

It is believed a member of staff at a local care home only worked 1 day during the qualifying period for eligibility decided to self isolate and protect their family.

Morally shouldn’t have taken the payment, didn’t earn it, work colleagues having to cover there absence, but broke there own self isolating rules to make sure they got it.

Bounce Back Loan fraud from criminals is expected to cost the government £26bn in losses, so 1 person taking liberties and trousering £500 they may or may not be entitled to is barely an outrage in comparison.
