Nightingale House Hospice is inviting you to do something different for Christmas this year and donate the money you would normally spend on cards to the hospice.

The hospice has a “No Cards, Just Charity” scheme and is calling on all local businesses to join in.

The scheme is an easy way to help your local charity, wish your office colleagues season greetings and help the environment by reducing the use of paper. Last years initiative was very successful and more than £6,500 was raised.

You can get a “No Cards, Just Charity” donation envelope in Nightingale House with a Card Free Christmas poster to put up in to your office where you can write messages to your colleagues in place of buying cards.

Afterwards, you can drop the envelope off or a cheque for the amount raised directly to the hospice on Chester Road, Wrexham.

Nightingale House Hospice provides specialist palliative care services completely free-of-charge to patients and their families across a wide area stretching from Wrexham, Flintshire, East Denbighshire to Barmouth and the border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch.

This year alone, it will cost £2.46 million to run the Hospice which equates to £6,700 per day.

Only 19% of this comes from statutory government sources therefore the hospice greatly relies on the generosity of the communities it serves.
