Usually when you think of your traditional soap opera setting it conjures images of Weatherfield’s cobbled streets or Walford’s Albert Square and the iconic Queen Vic.

But what would you think if we told you that Wrexham has its very own soap opera which has been filmed on the town’s streets?

Nine Stories High is a soap opera filmed on the streets of Wrexham starring the cast of the Welsh National Opera who sing and act out storylines partially based on the lives of local people.

The first episode ‘Prime Welsh Rump Steak’ is set outside Café Nero and plays out a marital conflict.

Nine Stories High will continue for a further eight episodes over the next eight months which will be filmed at secret locations across town.

WNO is asking for the input of local people into the soap opera in a series of writing workshops which it is holding in Wrexham.
