Wrexham will be celebrating World Peace Day in style with a free, fun event at Llwyn Isaf and Queens Square on Wednesday of Wrexham Year of Culture 2011.

Between 11am and 6pm there will be plenty of music, stalls and food for all the family and the opportunity to share ideas about the meaning of peace.

Since its inception World Peace Day has grown to include millions of people worldwide and many events are organised each year to commemorate and celebrate it.

Bands and performers confirmed as taking part in the Wrexham event include local musicians Heal the Last Stand, Kai Lena, Sophie Bellamy, The Scene and Andy Hickie and there will also be a poetry reading from Sophie McKeand.

Throughout the day there will be readings from some of Wrexham’s community groups and an open forum will be held in the middle of the field where adults and children alike can get creative through painting, drawing, writing and talking.

There will also be various craft stalls on Queens Square along with food and drink stalls around Llwyn Isaf.

For people who can’t make the day time fun there will be an after show gathering at the Horse and Jockey with more live music.
