Live Music Sessions Make Autumn Return To St Giles Parish Church
This September sees the return of live music performances to Wrexham’s St Giles Parish Church.
After a series of triumphant shows at the church as part of this year’s Focus Wales music festival, the St Giles’s Sessions are making a comeback with a landmark event to celebrate the launch of the debut album from captivating local duo Golden Fable.
Golden Fable are Tim McIver and Rebecca Palin. He is the multi-instrumentalist and computer programmer who provides the beats and the song structures, she is the captivating voice and, not to be outdone, also a multi-instrumentalist.
Between them they have created an album that celebrates the natural world outside their front door, the legends of the North Wales mountains that frame their cottage and the history of song that flows through Clwyd and Wales as a whole.
Despite the historical focus the album still manages to sound modern and innovative through the use of rhythm programming and sampling.
Their live performances are also a sight to behold as they give a nod to the natural world through their stage costumes which include bird feathers and leaves.
As with everything Golden Fable, the visual side of their live presentation involves more local talent in the costuming and the concepts behind it.
On the night they will be joined by collaborative music project Shy and The Fight, who will bring their unique alternative folk-pop sound to the event and Welsh singer-songwriter Meilir, who returns to St Giles after his impressive show last year.
DJ sets come from BBC Wales’ presenter Adam Walton along with a rare appearance from local math rockers Gallops who recently returned from a tour of China.
It promises to be another great night at St Giles and an unmissable event for local music lovers and to celebrate the unique event you can pre-order a special edition, hand finished Golden Fable CD and a ticket for the show for only £20.
The offer is available exclusively through the band’s website www.goldenfable.com.
This deluxe release comes with an exclusive download of acoustic re-workings of the album and is hand sewn, numbered and signed by the band.
General tickets are on sale from Friday, 27th July, and can be bought online from www.thefoundrywrexham.co.uk/stgilessessions or in person from Wrexham Tourist Information or Yale’s Café Bar.
