Wrexham Hockey Youngsters to have chance to meet International Stars

Early next month aspiring young hockey players from the area will get the chance to experience what it’s like to be part of the national team.

Head Coach of the Welsh hockey team, Amanda Partington, along with stars from the team itself will be at Glyndŵr University on Saturday 1st September to answer questions, share advice, and they’ll also be running a training session in the afternoon for attendees including some Olympic-themed games. They will also host a discussion on nutrition and what is required both before and after matches and at training sessions too.

Pat Sharples, Chair of the Wrexham Glyndŵr Hockey Club said: “We are really lucky that the Welsh Women’s Senior coach is coming along to talk about how to get involved and to be an International and will be coaching some aspects of the activities.”

“The great thing about attending this event is that the players will experience a typical training day for the Welsh Hockey Internationals and to see if they are inspired and want to achieve that goal.”

The cost is £15 for the day to include lunch. Arrival at 9AM and pick up at 4PM.

All children aged 7-14 are welcome.
