Late this afternoon the directors of Wrexham Football Club issued a statement saying “the last remaining issues between the two parties have now been resolved and all matters are now agreed”, which indicates the previously reported sticking point on historic debts has been solved.

The statement went on to give a timeframe for an announcement next week to confirm a takeover.

The current deal needs to be ratified by the Football Association and the Blue Square Football Conference. It is expect that the Conference element of this is all clear, the statement today suggests the deal “will be acceptable” with the FA.

Other good news for the club is that members of staff who had not been paid, have now received their wages.

Our previous coverage on the hold up on the deal can be found here.

Wrexham FC take on Cambridge Utd tonight at 7.45pm live on S4C in the first round proper of the FA Cup, so there could be yet further celebration for fans tonight!
