After the students returned to school after their summer holidays, the teacher asked them to stand up and name the best thing they had seen or did that summer.

The first little boy stands up and says "The best thing I saw this summer was the circus."

Next, a little girl stood up and said " The best thing I saw this summer was Disney World!!!"

Finally, little Johnny stands up, and says " Well, we didn't go anywhere this summer, but the best thing I saw was the dog chasing the cat round and round the house. Next thing I know, that cat stopped dead in its tracks and the dog shot right up it's behind!

"No, Johnny, " the teacher said, " We don't say that around here, we say rectum!"

Little Johnny replied, " Wrecked 'em? Bloody hell, it killed 'em both!":D

A man lay sprawled across three entire seats in the posh cinema. When the usher came by and noticed this, he whispered to the man, "Sorry, sir, but you're only allowed one seat." The man groaned but didn't budge. The usher became impatient. "Sir, if you don't get up from there I'm going to have to call the manager."
Again, the man just groaned, which infuriated the usher who turned and marched briskly back up the aisle in search of his manager.

In a few moments, both the usher and the manager returned and stood over the man. Together the two of them tried repeatedly to move him, but with no success.
Finally, they summoned the police. The cop surveyed the situation briefly then asked, "All right sir, what's your name?"
"Sam," the man moaned. "Where are you from, Sam?"
With pain in his voice Sam replied "The balcony.":)

There was this snail who wanted to be a Formula One racing driver. He went along to the track and asked if he could drive. The racing team manager said, "Yes, but you can't have a number on your car, you can only have an 'S' because you are a snail."

The Snail was okay with this is so he entered the race. The race started and the snail's car was at the back...but suddenly he sped to the front, over-taking all the cars and won!!

As the spectators saw the Snail speed past them, they yelled "WOW! LOOK AT THAT S-CAR GO!":)

On a vaguely connected topic, I just watched the final Mary Portas episode about saving the High Street. Highly recommended if you missed it. A lot of the comments on this forum were echoed throughout the series. Anyhow, it got me pondering about rents in the town so I checked the council site. On it is a pic of the high St cafe to let in the butchers market but it must be from yonks ago (dark red frontage and the cafe was called Tomlinsons) as I really don't recall it looking like this. Anybody else remember? I can't believe how smart it looked compared to the greasy cafe facade that replaced it.
Can't get link to work but look for 'vacant properties town centre' PDF on council website..page 6.

The list referenced above could be the http://www.wrexham.gov.uk/assets/pdf...own_centre.pdf . Its updated quite regularlly and contains prices, rentals , service charges and rateable values for properties.

The first Sunday, he only preached 10 minutes. The second Sunday, he preached only 20 minutes. But, on the third Sunday, he preached 1 hour 25 minutes.

When asked about this by some of the congregation, he responded this Way: 'The first Sunday, my gums were so sore it hurt to talk. The second Sunday, my new dentures were hurting me a lot. The third Sunday, I Accidentally grabbed my wife's dentures... And I couldn't shut up. ':D

Although my family do support the football club and always have done I sort of lost interest. This last seasons up and down have renewed my interest and I have joined the Supporters Trust. I am not promising to go to any games but if my contribution can help I am happy to carry it on.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any upcoming community projects / volunteering events in the local area that I could get my colleagues involved in?

I work in Chester but live in Wrexham so I would like us to support the local community here.

I've contacted a number of schools and searched the internet but I'm struggling to get anywhere so thought these forums would be a good place to get some ideas.

Previously we helped out at the National Children's Home by gardening and painting etc which was great and I know a few people are taking part in an event tomorrow with the North Wales Crusaders, getting children interested in sport - but that's about it.

Would appreciate any advice and I'm also keen to hear from any organisations / charities etc who are looking for help.

We want to give something back to the community - there must be someone out there who needs our help!

Thanks
