This week sees the curtain raise on the new theatre season with a production of Noel Gay’s Me & My Girl at the Grove Park Theatre.  The musical, set in the 1930’s centres round main character Bill Snibson as he tries to live up to and justify his new found title of Earl. However, his cockney past creates some challenges for the aristocratic family in which he is now a part of.

A 30-strong cast, all amateur performers from varying backgrounds and age ranges have been assembled and Rob Stevens, Producer and Director of the musical, praised their efforts over recent weeks:-

“Normally the cast and crew would have around 10 weeks to put together a production like this, but we only had 6-8 weeks and everyone has done a great job”.

Rob also added that the production was the first of a hectic schedule for the theatre in the lead up to panto season and that any aspiring actors, singers or dancers (or all!) can come to audition in an informal environment should they wish to get involved with any of them.

Me & My Girl runs from Thursday 6th September to Saturday 15th September. If you would like more information or to book tickets to go and see the musical for yourself simply click here.
