Council tenants can now request a house repair online thanks to the launch of a new interactive website.

Wrexham Council has launched a new secure internet site called ‘My Council House’ to enable tenants to get information about their tenancy or contact the council regarding their home.

It will enable them to find out the balance of their rent account, see previous balances, request repairs, view their repairs history and look at outstanding repairs.

The new service will be available to tenants alongside existing methods, which include telephoning one of six local estate offices.

In addition, tenants will be able to send messages or enquiries and check that the information held on them, including contact details, is up to date.

A council spokesperson said that the service will allow the authority provide a better service to their tenants.

Access will be secured by a password and an additional security question unique to each user. All requests to register for the site will be verified before allowing tenants access to their information. They will be sent a personal identification by post following their registration to allow them to access the site.

‘My Council House’ is aimed at tenants who prefer to use the internet or are unable to access the housing service during office hours and is part of Wrexham Council’s ongoing commitment to developing and enhancing the ways in which tenants can engage with the authority.

This service is now available to all tenants and can be accessed at https://myhouse.wrexham.gov.uk/ssp_ENG/.
