Wrexham Council Evicts Tenant Over Anti Social Behaviour

Wrexham Council has evicted a tenant who they say persistently behaved in an anti social manner.

The council said that Mark Prandle was evicted from Crescent Close in the town due to his and his associates begging, anti social behaviour and intimidation.

Neighbours in the Crescent Close area of Wrexham had complained about Mr Prandle’s behaviour on numerous occasions.

The Council’s Tenancy Enforcement Team gathered evidence including evidence from North Wales Police who were called to the property regularly. At Wrexham County Court a judge agreed with the local authority and granted the order to evict.

The action was taken following efforts by several agencies to get the tenant to modify and improve his behaviour. The situation however did not improve resulting in the need for the council to take the ultimate step of eviction.

Last year Mr Prandle was banned from begging within the county after he admitted to begging for money in the Elihu Yale Wetherspoons pub in town.

Fred Czulowski, Landlord Services Manager, said: “Eviction is always a final resort however, in this instance, it was the only option available to us to ensure other tenants in the area had the peace and quiet to which they are entitled.

“All our tenants are entitled to live without distress, alarm or harassment and our Tenancy Enforcement team work hard with tenants and our partner agencies to achieve this.”
