Jennie Crawshaw and her horse Daisy are today set to come to the end of an exciting 150 miles trek from Llanarmon D.C to Anglesey and back again, to help raise much needed funds for their local hospice, Nightingale House.
The pair trotted off on Thursday 11th August and are due to return at some point today. Their route will include travelling to Llandrillo via the Wayfarer’s Road across the Berwyn, over Mynydd Mynyllod to Dimael, around Betws y Coed, Capel, down Nat Ffancon and around the base of Penrhyn Quarry, over the A55 bridge to Bangor, over the mainland end of the Menai Suspension Bridge and ending in Llandona in Anglesey. The travelling twosome will then repeat the journey back home.
Jennie said: “With help from many kind family members, friends and others who were not quick enough to jump out of the way when they saw me coming, myself and Daisy hope to raise lots of money for Nightingale House in Wrexham.
“The wonderful work which the hospice does in our local area is largely funded by voluntary contributions such as these, without which it would not be able to provide all the care it does to those in need.
“Without the help we have had from so many friends and local businesses this venture would have been impossible to carry out.
“It is to all those people, both here and all along the way to Anglesey that I extend my very grateful thanks including all those who have kindly agreed to hold sponsor forms, meet up with me at various points, be on standby in case of need and offered all the help and support which they have done so far.”
Margaret Hollings, Community and Events Fundraising Manager said: “What a wonderful fundraising idea, it sounds like quite the adventure! We would like to wish Jennie and Daisy the very best of luck with their trek and thank them for choosing to support the hospice.”
